Graden work will take place starting on Monday 1st October – this work is anticipated to last 3 days. While a green is being worked on it will be out of action.
This work took place for the first time last autumn and had a good impact on the firmness of the surfaces throughout 2018.
The Graden machine removes organic matter and replaces it with sand and seed – it reaches a depth of 20mm and will add around 35 ton of sand to the greens. The blades are 3mm wide and surface disruption will be minimal after a roll.
This work is weather dependent and best results are obtained during dry conditions. The work needs to take place while soil temperatures are still high enough to aid recovery with growth.
