Following our promotion back up last season, Kilspindie started their latest Winter League Division One campaign with a visit from reigning Champions Gullane. It couldn’t have been a tougher start in the top flight than a visit from Gullane, who are looking to secure their 7th consecutive league title win alongside their 3 consecutive cup wins. In very wet conditions, the guys competed well and with our current Club Champion Graeme White throwing in a hole in one on the 8th for good measure, we thought it could be our day. Unfortunately, Gullane showed their battling qualities and they eventually ran out winners 3.5-1.5.

There was little time to dry out the waterproofs though as Royal Musselburgh were the next visitors the following Sunday. We knew this would be another tough match, as they all will be in the top flight. Again the boys battled hard, and in a tight match three matches went down the last hole. Thankfully, we held our nerve and were delighted to come away with a 3-2 win.

There wont be any easy matches this season, so to get a win under the belt so early in the season is a great start given the opposition faced. Next up sees us on the road with two consecutive away matches, firstly to Tantallon, before we head “over the wa” to take on Craigielaw.

Thanks to everyone who has played for us this season so far we really do appreciate your efforts.
